Rotten Dead Soul was born in mid-2021 through the vision of Asendrón. Consumed by illness, isolation, and emotional decay, he began writing songs and lyrics inspired by human suffering, inner darkness, and the emptiness slowly destroying both his surroundings and his life. Music became a way to channel pain, anxiety, and despair, transforming every composition into a reflection of misery and melancholy — elements that would eventually define the band’s essence and sound. Long before Rotten Dead Soul, Asendrón had already built an extensive journey within the Colombian underground scene. For more than ten years, he was part of the band Nightales, where he initially performed as guitarist before later becoming both guitarist and vocalist. Over time, internal conflicts and irreconcilable differences led to his departure from the band. After leaving Nightales, he continued performing with Sex Beer Gore, a parallel project that remained active until mid-2017, when each member eventually followed a different path. Some time later, Asendrón joined Paymon as guitarist, remaining with the band for approximately six months before stepping away from music once again and disappearing from the scene. After several years of silence, Asendrón left Bogotá D.C., Colombia, and moved to Bucaramanga searching for a new beginning among the ruins of his past. In less than six months, he met Archr at a gym — an encounter that would eventually mark the birth of Rotten Dead Soul. Archr immediately became interested in the project and later introduced Oscarius and Ahinoro, who joined the early songwriting and rehearsals. The first meetings and rehearsals took place in a completely homemade environment, surrounded only by amplifiers, unfinished songs, and oppressive atmospheres. At the time, the band still lacked both bassist and drummer. Months later, Manhum contacted Asendrón after seeing a musician recruitment post in Bucaramanga, slowly helping complete the lineup. Eventually, another musician connected them with the drummer who would finally complete the band’s formation. Currently, Rotten Dead Soul is working on the production and recording process of their debut album, The Downfall — a release drenched in melancholy, despair, darkness, and dense atmospheric passages that embody the band’s melodic death/doom metal identity. For now, the official release date remains unknown.

Rotten Dead Soul nació a mediados del año 2021 a través de la visión de Asendrón. Consumido por la enfermedad, el aislamiento y una profunda decadencia emocional, comenzó a escribir canciones y letras inspiradas en el sufrimiento humano, la oscuridad interior y el vacío que lentamente destruía su entorno y su vida. La música se convirtió en una forma de liberar dolor, ansiedad y desesperación, transformando cada composición en un reflejo de la miseria y la melancolía que definirían la esencia de la banda. Mucho antes de Rotten Dead Soul, Asendrón ya llevaba una extensa trayectoria dentro de la escena underground colombiana. Durante más de diez años formó parte de la banda Nightales, donde inició como guitarrista y posteriormente también asumió el rol de vocalista. Sin embargo, conflictos internos y diferencias irreconciliables terminaron provocando su salida de la agrupación. Después de abandonar Nightales, continuó tocando junto a Sex Beer Gore, una banda que coexistió paralelamente durante varios años hasta desaparecer a mediados de 2017, cuando cada integrante tomó un camino diferente. Tiempo después fue invitado a formar parte de Paymon como guitarrista, proyecto en el que permaneció alrededor de seis meses antes de alejarse nuevamente de la música y desaparecer de la escena. Tras años de silencio, Asendrón dejó Bogotá D.C. y viajó hacia Bucaramanga buscando un nuevo comienzo entre las ruinas de su pasado. En menos de seis meses conoció a Archr en un gimnasio, encuentro que marcaría el nacimiento de Rotten Dead Soul. Archr mostró interés inmediato en el proyecto y posteriormente presentó a Oscarius y Ahinoro, quienes se unieron a las primeras composiciones y ensayos. Las primeras reuniones ocurrieron en un ambiente completamente casero, rodeados únicamente por amplificadores, ideas sombrías y canciones inacabadas. La banda aún carecía de bajista y baterista. Meses después, Manhum contactó a Asendrón tras ver una publicación buscando músicos en Bucaramanga, completando lentamente la alineación. Más adelante, otro músico ayudó a conectarlos con el baterista que finalmente terminaría de dar forma al proyecto. Actualmente Rotten Dead Soul se encuentra trabajando en el proceso de producción y grabación de su primer álbum titulado The Downfall, una obra cargada de melancolía, desesperación, oscuridad y atmósferas densas que representan la identidad melodic death/doom metal de la banda. Por ahora, la fecha oficial de lanzamiento permanece desconocida.
